‘Most of my ski career I’ve been in Verbier, Zermatt and Vail. Skiing in Sainte- Foy is better.’ ( Where to Ski and Snowboard)
‘This is the last bastion of unexploited French skiing’ (The Daily Telegraph)
‘Its an uncrowded gem with some wonderful off-piste slopes’ (Where to Ski and Snowboard)
The uncrowded lifts which are less than 100m from our apartments carry you from 1550m to 2620m and open up a vast on- and off-piste area ideal for skiers and snowboarders alike. Surprisingly Sainte Foy has a larger useable ski area than Val d’Isère and there’s an excellent range of pistes to suit all abilities, from the nursery slope at resort level through sheltered tree-edged greens and blues to challenging reds and blacks. For the even more adventurous the off-piste is superb. You can hire a guide and try out some of the exhilarating runs from the top of the lifts which sweep down through ancient, picturesque mountain villages. The ESF ski-school in Sainte- Foy organises off-piste trips including transport back to the resort.
Sainte Foy’s enviable location means that within 15mins drive you can try out the skiing in the busier, bigger resorts of Tignes/Val d’Isère, Les Arcs(from Villaroger), and La Rosière. At around half the price of that of Val d’Isère, the Sainte Foy lift pass is wonderful value and includes a free day’s skiing at La Rosière and a free half-day at the other two resorts.
